Importance of SCHOOL COUNSELLING SERVICE

One of the aims of education policy is to create safe, caring schools, free from violence and abuse for each and every child in our schools. The need for counselling services is of utmost important to our schools to bring out the best in every student. School counselling service plays an important role in offering personal support to students in developing their overall well being with respect to their social, emotional, behavioural and academic development.

Counselling can act as an early intervention strategy that create awareness in students to look at their problems from different angles and manage their academic, emotional and behavioural difficulties and be more successfully both in school and at home. Early referral can prevent problems in attitudes, behaviour and promote mental health.
