Family Participation

Do schools acknowledge the importance of family and provide an open and welcoming atmosphere for their involvement?
School principals and other members of the school community can invite families to participate in most of the school activities. They need to greet families to make them feel welcome. Parents have representations in the School Board and in all committees. Schools should recognize family and community involvement in a wide range of curricular and co-curricular school events. Parent awareness sessions regarding parent and community involvement can take place annually.
